A run to check out this exhibition is planned for Sunday 14th August. It was in the July issue issue of Scootering - You'll love it! It only takes about twenty minutes, half hour to get there on a scooter!

A jet propelled one, anyway...

For the rest of us, travelling on old petrol powered bikes, I reckon ninety minutes to two hours. We're in no rush. On a Sunday it opens at 11 o'clock so I say we meet at the Prince of Wales at ten-ish? It is about 45 miles. Rough route - Cheam ---> Cobham ---> West Byfleet ---> Woking ---> Lightwater ---> Bagshot ---> Bracknell ---> Wokingham ---> Reading.

Having checked out the exhibition, a gentle ride back stopping for a pub lunch somewhere along the way. I'll have a look for a suitable venue.

Put it in your diary, tell your friends.

Yeah dude, I've wanted to do this, especially as my office if 10-15 mins away from the museum. Anyway I spoke to the Lost Souls last week who are also interested and as they like their Sunday rides and your passing through Woking anyway it's an ideal opportunity. Will drop then a note and let you know.

May need to rethink the route, those of us travelling from Cheam. Would seem that on that day there is a "Test event" for the 2012 Olympic Cycling, meaning that roads will be closed in the area. Pete sent round a link. Or look here http://www.elmbridgeguardian.co.uk/news/9153066.Roads_warning_for_Olympic_road_race_dry_run/?ref=ec

It looks as though the A3 is open down to Woking that way

Yep, spot on Bryan; the site says the A3 is unlikely to be affected so we'll just take the A3 until we clear the route of the cycle race.

Cheetahs 1 : Olympics 0

I am also tempted to head back via Runnymede to have a quick look at the RAF memorial...

Apologies for the late notice but, having checked with the others, we will have to postpone the visit for now. After the events of this week half the club now have to work on Sunday.

We will sort out another date as soon as possible.

Sorry all.
